We have been experimenting with bottle-fermented, vintage, dry, methode traditionel sparklings since 2003. The base wines were from our own low-yield (under 1 kilogram per vine) furmint and hárslevelű plantations, so they carry the uniqueness of the Mádi volcanic soil, and with the traditional production we were able to show in an elegant form.
From the very beginning Vencel Garamvári helped us with advice, for that we will always be thankful, also the 2014 vintage Extra Brut was Demetervin’s first international commercially available sparkling with his aid. In the year of its debut, 2016, thanks to the fierce popularity, the winery’s first – and certainly only – single – 100% furmint base wine sparkling has been made, which is still available for the market in limited stock.
It was folowed by another brand new idea, in 2017 single vineyard parcel Úrágya 57 selection 100% hárslevelű was the base wine of a limited magnum bottle fermented sparkling. It has also debuted in 2020, but will only be available at the winery, as in the early years.
This was followed by another magnum in 2020, 500 bottles were made from Kakas and Király vineyards, ageing in the winery’s hidden cellars until 2023.
